Why does the ASUS X54HR series 120GB hard drive only show 108GB in the system?

The capacity calculation method in the system is different from that of the hard disk: 1GB=1000MB=1000000KB for hard disk calculation, and 1GB=1024MB=1024*1024KB for system calculation.

When the hard disk specification is 120GB, the system should actually display the size = 120GB*1000*1000/1024/1024=114GB.

ASUS laptops with pre-installed operating system will have a hidden partition for one-click system recovery. The size is about 6GB and will be calculated separately, so the actual displayed size = 114GB-6GB = 108GB.

This is due to the industry’s different calculation methods of capacity and hidden partition division, and is not a computer fault.
