How to configure the ThinkPad wireless network (XP) using Windows Network Manager is as follows:
1. Confirm whether the Bluetooth indicator light under the Thinkpad notebook screen is on (for SL series machines, the indicator light is under the mouse touch pad).
2. If the wireless indicator light does not light up, it means that the wireless device may not be turned on. At this time, first check whether the "hardware wireless switch" of the laptop is turned on. (Machines starting from the 60 series generally have this switch, and it is turned on when it is turned to the right). Press and hold the Fn+F5 keys on the keyboard to bring up the wireless communication management, turn on the wireless, make sure the wireless status is on and the indicator light is on.
3. Confirm that the wireless icon has appeared in the tray.
4. Right-click the wireless icon and select "Open Network Connection", as shown below: (Note: You can also click "My Computer" here - click "Network Neighborhood" on the left - Click "View Network Connections" on the left to open the "Network Connections" window).
5. In the network connection, right-click "Wireless Network Connection"--then click Properties.
6. Open the wireless network connection, click on the "Wireless Network Configuration" tab after properties.
7. Please confirm that "Use Windows to configure my wireless network device" is selected, and then click "OK".
8. Double-click the "Wireless Network Connection" icon.
9. In the pop-up "Select Wireless Network", select the wireless network you want to connect to, and then double-click (or click "Connect").
10. If it is an encrypted wireless network, you need to enter the password at this time. (If it is an unencrypted wireless network, there will be no such prompt, just go to 11) Enter the password and connect.
11. After the connection is completed, you can access the Internet.
